French Connection ......

I have to admit, French people live classy, have a sense of style which I lack miserably.

Anais, has moved in since two weeks, but her room looks remarkably beautiful,. If I can just keep my room as clean as her's maybe that would be an achievement.( Well its my mess, and I love it...:p )

Talking about french people.....

Couple of weeks back, I met a French couple (Leila and Greg), through a common friend and immediately started liking them as they have been to Goa ;-), what was surprising to learn is that Leila is half Indian, if that’s not enough her father comes from Gujarat.

I mean think about this, what were my chances of meeting someone who is French and has Indian roots (being from the same state I am from??) or well should I say Indian having French roots? ;-). I somehow want to believe that this could only happen in ChinaJ

As hospitable as the French are they invited me over for dinner and movie. Well I was impressed to know that they wanted to see an Indian movie. So there I was showing Lagaan to a few French/Brazilian/Chinese people…

Didn’t I say French have a sense of style which is extremely classic? I fell in love with the house, the couches, the beds, the paintings, the small things they had in there made the house feel like a home. They had everything planned with a projector and a white wall it was a perfect, cozy comfortable set up to watch a movie over kus kus(hope I spelt it right , it’s a divine French dish) wine, and cheese.

We started the movie at around midnight, and almost everyone was awake by the end of it, which tells me they were interested in movie and liked it.

It feels good to watch some Indian movies, with people appreciating it right from the beginning, knowing little bit about Kirkut(Cricket) and compalning about it how long and boring the sport is, although I disagree- it is worth a good laugh sometimes. ;-)

Leila , Greg I know you guys want to be in India very soon, you are more then welcome, we would love to have you there..:-)

Till then lets rock ChinaJ

Crime master GOGO/Birthday/Bob's/Cellphone Lost---Satisfaction :-)

Before anything else, our house has another/new partner in crime. Let me Introduce Anais Ravet. She is a lot of fun and am kind of sure, will stand and tolerate our craziness(some people call it wierdness too...:p).

I am extremely happy to share the house with her. Learning about Brazil at such a fast pace wasn’t enough; I have a daunting task ahead of me to know France better through her.

My intake of bread has already doubled ;-) Hopefully will be able to know why do people like "wine" so much...(or is it just a status symbol? :p )

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Thanks Dad! :-) )

It was my birthday last Friday (1st September). I chose bed bar to celebrate, it’s a hutong converted in a bar, with excellent ambience bed plays excellent house music with a soft touch of electronic beats, perfect to chill out or at least my kind of music to chill on. I have to say, that I’ve always celebrated my birthday, things weren’t different in terms of music, dancing, getting drunk and being around people I like, what was different this time was that I was the only Indian.

It feels special when you are surrounded by friends, but somehow I felt special also because they were from at least 15 different countries.

You feel proud when one of those typical AIESEC quotes comes true for you. “I look at the world map and I no longer see boundaries dividing countries but faces of friends, I once spent most amazing time with.” (Regula this might be a good justification to part way with dear friends, at least it’s convincing to me!!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other day, I came back from office early and decided to just take my bike and discover some random streets near our house with Felipe.

I have been trying to find a replacement for Toto’s here in Beijing and I can very easily say the hunt is over. I found “Together”.

The owner(Robin) a Bob Marley fan plays reggae music (till we get drunk and then we take over) a cozy set up with Bob Marley’s picture all over and PS2 for free. I mean come on what else could you ask for.

I was so impressed by this place that I brought in my birthday in style at Bob’s…J

Beer, pop corn, glued on PS2 and reggae music, yeah guys any given Sunday if you want to track me I will be at Bob’s. (I don’t like the name “together” too much so I call it Bob’s). This is of course if I am not traveling around ..:-)

How is it a replacement for Toto’s? Well, I just feel at home at both the places. J

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s my life and somehow I have to finish a week with something I would regret ( I don’t understand how people say they don’t regret “anything”). So this week I lost my mobile, sheer carelessness from my side , the alcohol consumption didn’t help me one bit.

I am extremely sad; not about losing the phone, its alright but I had a lot of important nos. of people I wanted to keep in touch with, so if anyone of you reading this thinks that you should give me your no. again please email it to me. :-)

In the end, it feels good and I get a sense of satisfaction here in Beijing. Initially, the idea was to know some people and make some friends. In last 2 ½ months I can proudly say I know some interesting people and now a phase of extensive traveling on weekends is ahead of me (as winter will start soon).

Thats about from my side, will post more often as I have'nt been sincere enough.

Hope you like the pictures….:-)
